Do you want to know how XR is going to help revolutionizing the future of transportation? Don't miss this session! You'll learn how Human Factors, social science, applied psychology, cognitive research, immersive systems, and XR development together drive research and education in human interaction within transport environments.
How do humans interact with complex systems like automated and non-automated vehicles? How can AI and robotics assist drivers and passengers? And how can you explore these interactions in a realistic, immersive way?
We are exploring that at the Oost Simulation Centre, supported by the University of Twente BMS LAB and Green Dino.
You are invited to join us in exploring a frontier of simulation-based social science research. Launched in 2025, this national initiative brings together top-tier cognitive science expertise, companies and institutions and advanced XR simulation technology, offering a unique space to investigate how people behave in high-tech environments—whether in cars, trains, or digital worlds.
Through access to fully equipped simulators and immersive tools, you dive into real-time scenarios that reveal how humans engage with digital systems. From piloting simulations to broader educational XR activities in transport settings, your perspective on technology's role in society moves forward.
By the end of this session, you:
- Understand how simulation and XR technology can be used to study real-world human behavior in controlled, repeatable environments, both in educational and in research projects.
- Gain insight into designing human-centered systems, from transportation to AI interfaces.
- Discover how simulation research can directly involve and benefit citizens through technology and public engagement.
- Have insight on how you can measure the above.
Explore the Oost Simulation Hub and connect with a growing network of experts in transport, higher education, industry, and beyond. This is your paved way to next-level multidisciplinary simulation research and education!
