DESCRIPTION:When the National PID Centre at the National Library of Technol
 ogy launched in January 2023\, awareness of PIDs in the Czech Republic was
  still relatively low\, and many relevant stakeholders across the research
  community did not yet recognize their practical value. Looking back at th
 e three years of raising awareness and supporting the adoption of PIDs in 
 the Czech research environment\, you can learn what worked in the developm
 ent of centralized PID support services. More importantly\, you might bene
 fit from the challenges the Czech PID Centre has encountered and\, in some
  cases\, continues to deal with. While some of these are specific to the C
 zech context\, key lessons learned from\, e.g\, operating the national ORC
 ID and DOI consortia along with insights from conducting a cost-benefit an
 alysis as well as a national PID adoption survey can offer valuable inspir
 ation - or a cautionary tale - applicable to your local context.

 ollaboration across all research sectors and stakeholders. Ultimately\, lo
 cal resources and policies are required for a collaborative response to PI
 Ds\, which typically takes place at the regional or national levels - even
  though PIDs are essentially international endeavors. Without these nation
 al approaches\, PIDs remain difficult to implement and scattershot in thei
 r adoption. As countries continue to develop and implement National PID St
 rategies at varying speeds and with varying levels of sophistication and c
 ommunity buy-in\, this session offers a timely opportunity to reassess the
  global landscape and reflect on collective progress. There are many drive
 rs of PID adoption and implementation globally - from the integration of P
 IDs into funder systems to the availability of resources in a given langua
 ge\, as just a couple of endless possible examples. Each national strategy
  approaches drivers differently\, depending on their context and resources
  - how does your region approach PIDs?
