Charlie is a PIDs Librarian (Bibliothécaire spécialiste des identifiants uniques pérennes) at Université Laval (Québec, Canada) since 2023. She is a member of the DataCite Canada governing committee since 2024 and Chair of ORCID Canada since 2025.

In this session, you will learn about the Université Laval (UL) Library's experience being the first in Canada to integrate three PIDs (ROR IDs, ORCID IDs, and DOIs) to its institutional repository. Being an early Canadian adopter of the DSpace PID integrations, the Library faced many challenges. You will learn how the UL Library team worked with the community to improve the PID integrations and the impact it has had on its community. Attendees will leave with insights for navigating similar PID integration projects in their own contexts. They will also learn about the importance of those three PIDs in the context of institutional repositories.
