DESCRIPTION:Your PID infrastructure almost certainly leaves grey literature
  behind. This matters more than you might think. Grey literature — repor
 ts\, policy documents\, intergovernmental assessments\, technical publicat
 ions — underpins the world's most consequential decisions\, yet remains 
 largely invisible to PID systems. Fewer than 5% of citations in the first 
 six chapters of IPCC's AR6 reference grey literature\, and 15% of those li
 nks are already broken. The IPCC confirms this wasn't deliberate: contribu
 tors simply found DOI-bearing content far easier to cite. There's a second
  problem. Tracking real-world research impact — in government\, policy\,
  and corporate settings — requires journal-to-grey-literature citation a
 nalysis. Without grey literature PIDs\, that analysis is impossible at sca
 le. In this session you will discover how Content Object Identifiers (COIs
 )\, deployed across Policy Commons and Applied Science Commons\, are solvi
 ng both problems. You will leave understanding why grey literature PIDs ar
 e no longer optional infrastructure.
