This year, a new player to support the use and implementation of PIDs in Austria has been introduced: the PID.at Competence Center. In this lightning talk, you will learn about the center’s goals, action plan and first achievements. Join us as the PID.at Competence Center takes its next steps and discover fresh opportunities for collaboration.
Austria has more to offer than what meets the eye (which usually ends up being mountains and Mozart). Gems like Nobel laureate Anton Zeilinger prove that this small nation knows how to research big time. With the newly founded PID.at Competence Center, we aim to make Austrian research FAIRer by providing a wide array of PID services. This session will serve as your introduction to PID.at, explaining who we are, where we come from and what we do. You will get exclusive insights into our latest achievements and newest aspirations.
Although we operate on a smaller scale for now, our long-term goal is to become an integral part of the global PID landscape. Of course, we can’t do that alone. All of you researchers, repository managers, policy makers, infrastructure providers etc. are key! We would be happy to collaborate, strengthen existing bonds and establish new partnerships.
So, join us when we dare to ask the most intriguing of questions: What’s next? Building on a secure foundation of well-established PIDs like DOI, ORCID and ROR, we at PID.at are eager to implement new PIDs in the Austrian research infrastructure. Matthias Heni works at the TU Wien Library as an information manager, specializing in persistent identifiers (PIDs) and metadata. He is part of the PID.at Competence Center project team, is responsible for coordinating the Austrian national PID consortia for ORCID and DOI.
