Are you facing the challenge of integrating AI models into education? Various initiatives across Europe are aiming to provide solutions for access at both national and international levels. In this session, you will discover how different institutions are providing generative AI, the challenges they face, and the solutions they have found. We will discuss how to make computing resources available, create robust datasets, and innovate responsibly within existing regulations. You will learn from experiences in the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom, and gain an overview on the current developments on GenAI for education in Europe.
With Artificial Intelligence (AI) being at the core of discussions in higher education, numerous institutions face the question of how to provide access to AI models for their staff and students and integrate them into their core processes. This question is addressed by various initiatives in Europe, sometimes on a national level, sometimes through collaboration between multiple institutions.
In this panel session, you will learn how initiatives across Europe are addressing the challenge of providing access to GenAI. With contributions from various countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom, we will cover the following key questions:
- How to provide computing resources to enable use-cases in education?
- How to build robust and transparent datasets?
- How to responsibly innovate within current policies and regulations?
- How to systematically evaluate and test implementations?
- How to build a public infrastructure that facilitates collaboration among industry, researchers, educators, and EdTech?
During the panel, you will get an overview of different approaches and initiatives in Europe. We will start with presentations of various examples, such as EduGenAI – a chatbot developed for Dutch higher education and its underlying AI hub, as well as similar initiatives like the hybrid cloud infrastructure at Jisc in the United Kingdom and the GWDG in Germany.
The focus of the panel session is on sharing perspectives and experiences related to the mentioned challenges. We will facilitate a discussion to explore common insights and opportunities for collaboration around a GenAI infrastructure and ecosystem.
Attend this session and benefit from an overview of different approaches to providing GenAI infrastructure in education. Learn from international experiences and improve your own initiatives. Specifically, you will gain:
- An understanding of different approaches to integrating GenAI in higher education across Europe.
- Identification of common challenges and sharing of best practices from various stakeholders.
- Exploration of how collaboration can enhance AI innovation in education.
Target Audience: Information Managers, policymakers, educators, and anyone involved in integrating AI into education should attend this session.
