From October 2025, more than 59 vocational, higher vocational and university-level institutions will be collaborating with EduGenAI: a secure, responsible generative AI environment for Dutch education. In this session, we will look back on a year-long pilot: which use cases worked, what did we learn about adoption and governance, and what challenges did we face? We’ll share concrete figures, honest insights and the way forward. From exploring various technological avenues to a single shared service via SURF from January 2027. Not a glossy success story, but an honest account of the steps involved in deploying AI responsibly on a sector-wide scale.
