You’ve found the perfect XR app for your teaching. But how do you ensure that the app can be easily deployed across all headsets, remains up to date and can be managed during lessons? It is precisely that final step (the ‘last mile’) that the XRScalekit was developed to address.
With the XRScalekit, educational institutions can centrally distribute and manage XR applications across large numbers of headsets. This makes it easier to deploy XR applications at scale within education, without teachers or administrators having to configure each headset individually.
The XRScalekit was developed at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and is now being used there successfully. But is this approach also valuable for other educational institutions? To answer that question, over the past three months we have worked with eight institutions from the vocational education (MBO), higher professional education (HBO), university (WO) and university medical centres (UMCs) sectors to investigate how the toolkit is perceived in different educational contexts.
During this session, we will share the results of this pilot: what works well, what challenges did we encounter, and what needs do we see within the education sector? We will also provide an insight into the current capabilities of the XRScalekit and our vision for the platform’s further development.
The XRScalekit is making the leap from the lab to the real world!
