How can AI be meaningful applied to journalism?
In the project The Shadow Editors, journalism researchers and AI experts of two professorships of Fontys University of Applied Sciences, as well as journalism and AI engineering students, follow the news process of a journalistic editorial team for a week. They generate every news item during the week with AI. The goal of the project is to learn at what stage of the news process the deployment of AI is relevant, which tools lend themselves to journalistic work (i.e., run in line with societal values), and to what extent the deployment of AI, in general, saves time or gains quality
